Rachel (RJ) Newell is an Alaskan writer and actor based in Los Angeles. She is a fellow of the LARB Publishing Workshop at USC, a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and holds a BA in Liberal Studies/Creative Writing from Antioch University. In recent years, Rachel has worn a few hats: actress, model, comedian, writer, and publishing professional. She recently served as Editorial and Business Administrator for Los Angeles Review of Books and now writes on a freelance basis. Her writing has appeared in the LA Review of Books, HuffPost, 6S, The Frontiersman, The Daily Twenties, LoveTV, FunnyOrDie, WhoHaHa, and more. As a performer, Rachel is a company member of The Loft Ensemble and is working on a funny little show about death. Say hello!
